Hello my lovely friends π Have you done your TGIF Happy Dance yet? ππ» Go ahead…I’ll wait
Done? Great ” π Now you can sit and make yourself a cozy headband for the frosty (shopping) days ahead. π
You may have seen it here last week…if not- here it is
What do you think? You like? Well, then get your hook and yarn, and let’s get started π€
You will need
Material: ~ 1 skein medium weight (4) yarn – I used Red Heart for this project, because it’s warm, and soft. And it shows the stitches off beautifully.
~ 2 Hooks – H (5mm) and I/9 (5.5mm)
Stitches: – Chain, dc, hdc, sc, frontpost dc (fpdc), backpost dc (bpdc)
Details : Fpdc – yo, insert hook from right to left behind the dc post in the previous row, finish dc as usual.
Bpdc – yo, from behind your work insert hook from right to left over the dc post in the previous row, finish dc as usual
PicotEdging – *slipstitch in sc in previous row, slipstitch in next sc, ch3, slipstitch in 1st ch. Repeat from * across row
Alrighty…now let’s put all this β¬οΈ to good use π
Headband: With the I/9 (5.5mm) hook ch 68
Row 1: Switch to your H (5mm) hook. Dc in 3rd ch from hook, and in each following ch. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 2: Fpdc in 2nd dc from hook. Bpdc in next stitch. Alternate fpdc and bpdc to the end of the row. Ch2, turn.
Row 3, 4, 5 – repeat Row 2, mirroring the stitches from the previous rows (fpdc on fpdc, bpdc
on bpdc)
Tapered Ends: When you’re done with Row 5, ch1 and work 10hdc across the short side of your headband. Ch1. Turn. *Sc 2together. Sc in each of the following stitches. Sc last 2 together. Ch 1. Turn.
Repeat from * until there is one stitch left.
Don’t fasten off! Ch 70, turn, slipstitch in each ch. Fasten off.
Attach yarn to opposite end, and repeat the instruction for the tapered ends.
When you finish that part, you don’t have to fasten off. Continue on following the instructions for the ‘Picot Edging’ on one side. Then you either work across the tie-back to finish it in one round, or fasten off, reattach yarn on the other side, and finish the ‘Picots’ there.
Now you’re basically ready to weather the storm. βοΈ
If you want to attach the flower – pretty isn’t it? π just click here . Liliia at ‘Mangotree Crafts’ has written an easy pattern for this gorgeous 6-petal flower.
Now sew it on, and tell ’em to bring on the snow βοΈβοΈβοΈ
They also make great stocking stuffers, and Teacher’s gifts. π
If you love them, and are running out of time – ’cause the holidays are always sneaking up at lightning speed β‘οΈ I do have a few in my Etsy Shop π Then you can just click and give π
That’s all for today my lovelies π€
This weekend is the ‘Fantastic Bake Along’! π You do wanna stop by for a delicious Apple Pie recipe π
I hope to see you then! π
