Your ~ Weekend ~ Chuckle ๐Ÿ˜ธ

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•

Are you having a fabulous Sunday? Great! I hope I can brighten it a little more! ๐Ÿ˜Š

This one makes me laugh out loud every time I come across it ๐Ÿ˜†

Sounds like Dad is ruthless ๐Ÿ˜œ

The Google Trap ๐Ÿ˜‰

This! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

These are the best ones from this week ๐Ÿ˜ I hope you giggled, chuckled, laughed! ๐Ÿค—

Until next time ๐Ÿ’•

Wondering What Iโ€™ve Been Up To? ๐Ÿ˜

Keep reading and you’ll find out ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•

It feels like it’s been forever that I ‘talked’ to you. See – I’m going through an ‘obsessive’ crochet phase. I get that once in a while.

I thought about you and this little blog of mine often. I outline posts in my head, grab the iPad…then one glance toward the yarn – and that’s all she wrote. Or in this case – didn’t write. ๐Ÿ˜‰

But maybe the fact that you’re actually reading something I wrote is a sign that the phase is ending. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Now back to why you’re here…you wanna know what I’ve been up to. Here you go

I made a few hats

I shall call them ‘Never get lost in a snowstorm again’ ๐Ÿ˜œ

I found a great pattern on Pinterest – How to size and crochet the perfect hat/beanie.

It’s a written pattern, and really easy to follow. If you want to make a hat or two…take a look

It doesn’t get easier than that. ๐Ÿ˜

The only thing I changed, I added the ribbed edge using alternating fpdc/bpdc to give them a tighter fit. ๐Ÿ˜Š

A scarf and another hat

For this scarf I recreated one of my jewelry designs The two ends wrap around the neck, then get tucked through a loop behind the flower. That way you can wear it tight for extra warmth, or, if that gives you a ‘choking’ feeling, loose for looks. ๐Ÿ˜ŠI do plan to write the pattern over the weekend, so you will see it within the next few days. Pinky swear ๐Ÿ˜˜The matching hat

My New Purse

I really love how this one came out ๐Ÿ˜Š And it’s so much fun to make…I see a few more of them in our future ๐Ÿ˜

A Puzzle Sweater

I made a little progress on this sweater. I took the pieces that were joined together apart, and started over. There is an idea behind the madness ๐Ÿ˜œ You’ll see!

I’m currently working on a Puzzle Poncho for a constantly shivering friend. That poor girl is always cold, and since we are expecting another arctic blast ๐Ÿ˜ฉ she needs something warm and yarny asap. ๐Ÿ˜Š By next time I’ll have a picture…hopefully of her wearing it! ๐Ÿ˜

Oh….one more thing! Last weekend was the Fantastic Bake-Along, hosted by Tracy on her blog It’s a T-Sweets Day

On the menu this weekend were ‘Mary Berry Gingersnaps’. Rebecca was kind enough to share her amazing (sounding) recipe. Rebecca is the author of a fabulous blog – Twinklehook

If you don’t know them – you should hop on over to their blogs. Tracy and Rebecca are both awesome and inspiring crafters and wonderful friends! ๐Ÿ˜

I did not ‘bake along’ this week ๐Ÿ˜• I knew if I baked those cookies, and have them in the house, then any chance of wearing my jeans, which I accidentally shrunk in the wash ๐Ÿ˜‰, any chance of wearing them in the near future would just be gone.

So I lived vicariously through the success stories of all the other bakers – while gnawing on a carrot ๐Ÿฅ•

Now I’ll go back to wielding the crochet hook so my lovely friend will be cold no more ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Have a lovely weekend!

I’m sending you Smiles ๐Ÿ™‚ Hugs ๐Ÿค— and Love ๐Ÿ’•

Cuddly Baby Blanket ~ A Pattern ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•

We all love all-things-baby, right? ๐Ÿ˜

So today I wanna show you how easy it is to make a warm, cuddly, soft & supercute baby blanket in just a few hours.

It really is โ€˜easy peasy lemon squeezyโ€™, and not at all โ€˜difficult difficult lemon difficultโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜‚

I promise! ๐Ÿ˜

Before I give you the details, take a look at the ones Iโ€™ve made so far

img_3571ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย 2BFA298B-3F3B-4CC8-BB5F-14CD52EA4180

All it is is a big โ€˜Granny Squareโ€™ and super bulky yarn – I used 4 skeins of โ€˜BERNAT Baby Blanketโ€™ yarn, and a 8mm/L hook ๐Ÿ˜Š

Not sure how to make the Granny Square? Please checkย hereย – itโ€™s the same pattern as the โ€˜Oversized Ponchoโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜

Work 13 rounds (not as many as the Poncho…yay ๐Ÿ˜†)

After you join the 13th round with the slipstitch, chain 1, and continue on with sc. One each between the dc of the previous round, 1sc in the ch1 space.

Join with a slipstitch.

The border is a round of slipstitches and picots. For that you want to (from the joining slipstitch)

ch2, slipstitch into the first chain, slipstitch into the next sc, slipstitch, ch2, slipstitch into the first chain, and so on. Join the row with a slipstitch.

Thatโ€™s it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Easy, peasy right?

I will be listing some in my Etsy store…just in case you donโ€™t get to making one. ๐Ÿ˜

Will you be making one? Does the pattern make sense? Please let me know, so I can tweak the pattern accordingly. ๐Ÿค—

Have a fabulous rest of the week! ๐Ÿ’•

Just a quick note ๐Ÿค“

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•

Me again… I just wanna share the most cutest pattern with you ๐Ÿ˜

I usually don’t buy patterns – Most of the time I can figure out something buy looking at it, and trial and error. ๐Ÿ˜‰

But this here I saw, went to Etsy, and clicked on ‘Add to cart’ ๐Ÿ˜Š

How adorable are these?! ๐Ÿ˜

If you’re as taken with them as I am…The Etsy store is ‘Inventorium’ —–> here’s the Link
liation – I just love them ๐Ÿ˜)

Have a beautiful rest of your day ๐Ÿ’•

Your ~ Weekend ~ Chuckle ๐Ÿ˜ธ

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•

Things are back to normal around here ๐Ÿ˜Š How do you know?

The Weekend Chuckle is back! ๐Ÿ˜

I think I’ve collected some good ones…shall we see? Let’s shall ๐Ÿ˜‹Do you see it? ๐Ÿ˜And because all things come in twos…. ๐Ÿ˜œ

๐Ÿ˜‚ Do you have one?

Busted! ๐Ÿ˜†

Not so much a ‘chuckle moment’, but definitely an ‘Awwww moment’ ๐Ÿ˜Have a happy Sunday ~ I hope this contributed just a little bit ๐Ÿ˜Sending Smiles ๐Ÿ™‚ Hugs ๐Ÿค— and Love ๐Ÿ’• your way!

The Stubborn Granny Square – Problem solved ๐Ÿ˜

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•

Now – as promised – I’m gonna show you what I did with the yellow/grey Granny Squares that didn’t wanna play well with others ๐Ÿ˜‹

The plan was to make another Granny Square Cardigan

or a Granny Square Poncho. But no matter what color I tried, nothing would match the yellow/grey. ๐Ÿ˜•

See what I mean?

On the post in which I was whining about my predicament, the wonderful Brenna @ Crochet 539 advised me to set them aside, and wait for inspiration. So I did. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Then, a few days ago, I received a yarn order, and in it was a fabulous, delicious yarn – Red Heart’s ‘Unforgettable’ in ‘ Sunrise’ ๐Ÿ˜

As I was fingering it, my mind went to the squares, tucked away in the Granny-Square-Pile…yes there is such a thing in my house ๐Ÿ˜œ

And I thought, well, if I can’t match it, I gotta go the crazy route, and do the unconventional, the unexpected. And you know how I love to go down that road. ๐Ÿ˜

So I put the two together. My daughter just raised one skeptical eyebrow ๐Ÿ˜ but didn’t say anything. I didn’t hate it, so I started the square. If it were an absolute no-no, like the other ones, I could always add it to the pile. ๐Ÿ˜

But see what happened…it worked! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ At least I think so! What do you think? Yay or Nay?

I did add the black to make the transition more pleasant, and I love how it now looks a bit like stained glass. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Because I like the yarn so much, I made a matching Infinity Scarf

As it happens so often, I do wanna keep it. But, if I constantly do that my Etsy store will have nothing but dust bunnies and tumbleweed in it! ๐Ÿ˜†

So I’m still on the fence about it.

I’d love to hear what you think! ๐Ÿ˜ Please let me know…I’m looking forward to it – I think ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sending Smiles ๐Ÿ™‚ Hugs ๐Ÿค— and Love ๐Ÿ’• your way.

In the Spotlight – The (finished!) Puzzle Poncho ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐ŸŽ†

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•

Would you please raise your glass…

and help me celebrate the completion of the Puzzle Poncho! ๐Ÿ˜

…with cozy (attached) Infinity Scarf

Some details…

The ends are all tucked away…finally! It happened again this morning – just when I thought I got them all, I discovered another cluster. But now, about an hour and a half later, I reeaaaly got them all (I checked all around, inside and out) twice ๐Ÿ˜œ

I will bask in the feeling of satisfaction for a bit. But, as we all know, there is no rest for the wicked – I do have a few WIPs to tend to. One is near completion, let’s talk about that tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜

A little hint – I finally figured out what to do with the ‘They-don’t-match-anything’ yellow/grey Granny Squares

Thanks to the advice from the lovely Brenna from the wonderful blog Crochet 539 – she had told me to set it aside, and wait for a flash of inspiration. ๐Ÿ˜Š I did just that, and I am quite pleased with the result.

I hope you will join me tomorrow for some WIP talk, and some random ramblings. ๐Ÿ˜

Until then ๐Ÿ’•
