Hello my lovely friends 😍 Happy Christmas Eve!

The last door! And what a beautiful one it is! Let’s see what’s hiding behind it…

It’s the Christmas Star 🌟

The ‘National Geographic’ sent a photographer to Alaska to capture this historic, amazing event. 🌟

To the right you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful Northern Lights!

Well, this is it! Christmas is here πŸ˜ŠπŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸΌ Thank you so much for joining me for this daily countdown to Christmas Day πŸ’– I hope you enjoyed the journey. I know I did!

Your Advent ~ Calendar – Day 23

Hello my lovely friends 😍

Behind today’s door I have a delicious surprise waiting for you!

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies πŸ˜‹ I think Santa will be very happy tonight!

You can find the recipe for these yummy treats here .

A few tips:

– If you use a Standmixer, use the dough hook for the last step (mixing the wet and dry ingredients). Just trust me on this πŸ˜‰

– The dough gets very sticky after a few minutes out of the fridge. So you have to work fast or hire a few helpers. I didn’t do neither, so I had to scrape dough from my hands with a knife πŸ˜…

– I bakes the cookies for about 13 minutes. The texture is more on the crunchy side…but not quite. I hope that makes sense πŸ™ƒ

– I rolled them in granulated sugar, since I didn’t have powdered sugar…and didn’t want to join the crowds at the grocery store today 😏 But the author mentions that her Mom rolls them in granulated sugar. And what’s good enough for Mom, is good enough for me. 😊

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you’ll be back for the opening of the last door! πŸŽ„

Your Advent + Calendar – Day 22 πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Hello my lovely friends 😍

So…shall we open yesterday’s door? 😬 Of course we should…

It’s a….supercute Hat-Pattern πŸ˜ƒ I don’t know about you, but once I’m 2, 3 months into hat-weather, I get bored by my winter gear, and I- at the very least – need a new hat!😏

This is a easy-to-follow pattern for intermediate crocheters, or adventurous newbies.

At the moment I’m taking a break from crocheting…darn carpal tunnel. 🀨 But as soon as that’s cleared up, this hat will be mine! 😊

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you’ll be back for the opening of the remaining doors. πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Your Advent ~ Calendar – Day 21 πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Hello my lovely friends 😍

So apparently I’ve been trailing behind the actual calendar days πŸ™ˆ How long has that been going on? πŸ˜… I guess we’ll be opening 2 doors tomorrow πŸ˜‹

But first things first…today’s – eh, yesterday’s – door

Wanna talk Christmas Carols? 🎢

Do you have a favorite? Which one makes you reach for the skip/off button on your listening device?

I go first 😁

Favorite is a tough choice πŸ€”

I’ll go with (for every day listening) –

‘I need a little Christmas’ by Johnny Mathis

and

‘Ugly Christmas Sweater’ by the-one-and-only Garth Brooks 🀠

Those two make me dance around the house every time!

For Christmas Eve –

Silent Night – I don’t have a favorite artist there πŸ•―

Now – which one makes me scramble to the skip/off button?

That’s easy…‘Santa Baby’ – I truly can’t stand listening to that one! I think this song is everything that Christmas is not/should not be about! πŸ˜•

So, that’s my list 🎢🎢🎢 I’d love to hear your carol choices! πŸ₯°

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you’ll be back for the opening of the remaining doors (remember…2 tomorrow πŸ˜‰)

I personally was glad to hear it! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•πŸ•―

Your Advent~Calendar – Day 15 πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Hello my lovely friends πŸ₯°

Welcome back! Now let’s open this door, and see what Day 15 has in store for us 😎

It’s….Snowglobes 😍

This time of year I have them all over the house. Here I gathered a few for show-and-tell πŸ™‚

I found out some interesting tidbits about the history of these whimsical treasures.

✨The first version of a snow globe was displayed at the ‘Paris Universal Exposition’ in 1878 by a local glass company. It is described as “A paperweight, a hollow ball, filled with water and a white powder, which seems to ‘snow down’ on a man holding an umbrella”.

So how did we get from there to today? That’s described, in detail, in this article from artsy.com* (page will open in a new window).

It’s a very interesting story I hope you enjoy! πŸ€“

Before I go – here’s one more snow globe displayed, no…not in Paris 😁, it’s right here, in my little abode.

It’s my granddaughter’s favorite. When turned on it plays ‘Jingle Bells’ and the snow swirls around 😊 She loves it, the adults endure it πŸ˜… It looks a lot better than it sounds. It plays a rather tinny version of this beautiful song. My daughter compared it to a smoke alarm πŸ˜„

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you’ll be back for the opening of the remaining doors! πŸŽ…πŸΌ
