The lovely Emma from Emma Crafts Design nominated me for the ‘Mystery Blogger Award’

First – ‘The Rules

Thank the person who nominated you and link their blog, tell your readers three things about yourself, nominate people, notify your nominees by commenting on their blogs, ask your nominees five questions of your choice and share a link or links to your favourite posts.

Second – 3 Things about myself

1. I’m originally from Germany. That’s where I met my soldier many moons ago, and liked him so much that I’ve been following him around ever since. ย ๐Ÿ˜ ย  We’ve been living in Kansas for the last 10 years…I guess you could say we finally settled in.

2. I love rainy days. I think it’s glorious to sit inside – in my favorite chair -, dark(ish) outside, but warm and cozy inside, crocheting by lamplight, watching TV

3. I absolutely despise butchered language ย ๐Ÿ˜ฃ ย  Like vacay, delish ๐Ÿ˜ณ ย (just typing that makes me cringe). I do wonder what people do with the time they safe by not pronouncing the whole word

Thirdย  – Emma posted some questions for me…here they are

  1. What is your favorite TV show?
That’s tough ๐Ÿค” I wanna say ‘Monk’ – I’ve been watching reruns lately, and really enjoy them
  2. What is the craft you prefer?
I’ve done pretty much everything – right now I’ve been bitten by the Crochet Bug…and loving every minute ๐Ÿ˜
  3. If you could live in any country, where would it be?
I’m very happy here in the US ย ๐Ÿ˜€ ย Now if I could just scoot over a bit so I’m by the ocean…that would be perfection
  4. Whatโ€™s your favorite dish
    Anything with fish
  5. Do you prefer dawn or dusk?
Dawn – I love the possibilities of a whole new day being stretched out in front of me

Fourth ~ Some of my favorite posts

Dumbo the Octopus ย from Emma Crafts Design ~ If you love Amigurumi you have to check out that little cutie

Brenna’s Freeform Bagย ย  ~ย  Brenna made this fabulous bag using Freeform Crochet – and she’s sweet enough to show you the process

Now – my nomineesย  – Envelope please ๐Ÿ†

Brenna from Crochet539

Tracy from It’s a T-Sweets day!

Tami from Tanglewood Knots

Victoria from Knotjustanimals

Yolanda from yochet

Alright Girls – here are your questions…

  1. Do you have a favorite book?
  2. What’s your favorite pastry?
  3. Would you rather be in the mountains or on the beach?
  4. What’s your all-time favorite band?
  5. Small town or citylife?

That’s it from me – As always…I’m looking forward to hearing from you ๐Ÿค—

If I forgot to put you on the list ย  ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ – I can be a bit scatterbrainy at times – ย  and you wanna play, please feel free to answer the questions in the comments.

I’ll be back soon with a WIP post and Part III of the Crochet Along. Busy day ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Take care! See you soon

Until then ๐Ÿ’•

Blogger Recognition Award

Hello my lovely friends   ๐Ÿ’•     It’s lovely to see you!
Thanks for coming by today to join me in my happy dance  ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป    Last week the lovely Linda from the awesome Kelley’s DIY blog surprised me with this wonderful honor – the ‘Bloggers Recognition Award’. Thank you bunches, Linda ๐Ÿค—
If you follow her blog you’ll never again have a boring moment in your spare time!

How my blog started
I started this blog a little over two years ago…not really knowing where I wanted to go with this. I was making jewelry at the time, and I deleted most posts right after I wrote them, because it seemed more like an ‘ad campaign’, than a fun place people would want to come back to. A few things (mostly recipes and a few DIY tutorials) survived the ‘early months’, but they are few and far between. Then, at the end of last year, I found a new creative path – and with that enthusiasm for my blog. Now I’m happily gaining new friends, and engaging in an awesome community of fellow bloggers.

Blogging advice:
For me, the most important piece of advice I ever got is – Be yourself!
Whether your writing your posts, commenting, answering to comments – let your voice shine! Write like you’re talking to a friend – because, basically, that’s what it is. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

The second piece would be – engage with other bloggers! If you read a funny, or inspiring, or helpful, or interesting post – let the writer know! We all appreciate visitors, but if you let us know that you visited, and leave a nice word or two…that’s the cherry on top! ๐Ÿ’

Thank you so much for visiting/reading!   I sure hope it wasn’t too boring, and that you found a morsel of guidance/help.

Now there are some rules to follow when accepting the award…

Award Rules:
โ€ข  Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
โ€ข  Write a post to show your award
โ€ข  Give a brief summary of how your blog started and give two pieces of blogging advice

The Blue Sky Award

Hello my lovely friends   ๐Ÿ’•    Thank you for stopping in! Today I have to share some wonderful news with you. ๐Ÿ˜€

The lovely Kelley, writer of the wonderful https://kelleysdiy.com/category/crafts/
blog, graciously nominated me and my blog for the Blue Sky Award ๐Ÿ˜
Thank you so much, Kelley! I’m tickled pink for receiving this lovely award. It’s definitely a boost and inspiration, ’cause now I feel like I’m doing alright and should keep going. ๐Ÿ˜
This is my first nomination, and I feel honored for receiving it from an awesome blogger. You should set aside a few minutes and check out her blog…she’s very creative, and every visit brings me a few more things for my ‘to-(wanna)-do list’.

Now I’m supposed to tell you a few random facts about myself
I’ll try not to bore you ๐Ÿค“
Here we go….

~ After being a ‘gypsy’ (aka Army Wife) for twenty-some years, I now live in Kansas, transplanted from Germany.

~ I love the outdoors. Nothing to strenuous though…being outside with the dogs, gardening, walking under trees – I guess in Japan they call it ‘tree-bathing’….have you heard about that? I recently saw a video about it – and in Japan it’s actually therapy for all kinds of ailments.

~ My favorite book is ‘Rebecca’ by Daphne duMaurier

~ My favorite singer is Garth Brooks.  ๐Ÿค    Last month I was lucky enough to score tickets to his show in KC. And what a show that was! I was truly dazzled and walking on clouds for days!

~ I’m obsessed with emojis – If you ever read one of my posts you probably figured that one out already ๐Ÿ˜

~ Coffee! โ˜•๏ธ  ’nuff said

~ My favorite season is Autumn. The crisp air, the cool nights, the colors everywhere – it’s just glorious. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ

~ I would love to live near the ocean.   ๐ŸŒŠ   Maybe one day!

~ My favorite quote is….

About the TV – mostly it’s just playing in the background when I crochet…and since I don’t wear my glasses when crocheting, knitting, it’s more like radio. ๐Ÿ˜‹ I do like to be entertained though, no sad movies for me! I definitely tune in for ‘The Big Bang Theory’, ‘Monk’, and ‘Columbo’.

I hope you’re still with me! ๐Ÿ˜˜

๐Ÿ†Now it’s time for the nominations of some fabulous bloggers ๐Ÿ†….Drumroll please ๐Ÿฅ

These bloggers never fail to inspire, lend support, and entertain! ๐Ÿ’•
