WIP ~ Wednesday πŸ™ˆ

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

It’s time for a WIP Wednesday. I really needed to get them organized and – finally- finished…and published, so they can taunt me until they’re done πŸ˜‰

Most of them are that…finished that is…they just need a little more attention, aka ends woven in, and then some more ends woven in 😬

Or, like in this case…

…braids secured, and joined to form an infinity scarf. Really not that much work! πŸ˜‹

Well, what have we here?

A cozy ‘Fairy Collar’, with the ends still dangling about πŸ€“

Or the Capelet 😍 Just needs to have – you guessed it – the ends woven in.

Gee, you’d think I don’t like that particular part of crocheting the pretty things πŸ€ͺ

But I did finish a few things lately.

The Boho-Sweater 😊

And because I like it so much, it is pretty easy to make, and I can never find sweaters I like in stores…I’m making another one…

It’s almost hat season – yay, yay, yay πŸ˜€

I love Cloche-Hats πŸ’– so I made a few

And last but not least…my Freeform project. I’m looking to fill a large frame with different Scrumbles…and maybe, while doing that, gain enough experience for a future workshop 😊

Wow…this is a lot more than I thought I’d have. πŸ™ˆ Thank you for reading/looking all the way to here! 😍

I have to know, do you have projects laying around that are aaalllmmost finished, that need just a little more of your time, but that task is not so appealing, so you rather start something new instead? 😁

Please say ‘Yes’, and let me know! πŸ’• I’m looking forward to your comments!

WIP ~ Wednesday πŸŒž

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Today I actually have a few WIPs – caught on camera before they are finished 😁

1. There’s the scarf – in a new (for me) pattern

It’s a far cry from the colorway on the label…

…but still pretty and it leaves a lot of grey background for embellishments 😁

Oh… I was gonna discard this photo at first – but it made me smile 😊

2. Aaaand another scarf

I’m not sure…have you seen this one?

It’s an ‘ Infinity Scarf’ – half V-Stitch, half braids, gussied up with a crochet cord and a tassel.

Well – I made another one

This one needs to be sewn, wrapped , and tasseled up 😊

3. Purses – I might have found my niche in the Crochet World 😍 I looooove making purses!

You’ve seen this one

That one is now heading to the Etsy store πŸ˜ƒ

Then I have one in Fall colors

It just needs a lining…then it’s following it’s mate to the shop 🀩

Remember the ‘Agate slices’?

Well…. I think they would make a pretty fabulous handbag

Don’t you think? 😊

And last…the very beginning of a (possibly) Beach Bag

See, from my Jewelry making days I had all this Hempcord laying around

It is pretty stiff, so it was useless for Jewelry…but it will make a great bag πŸ˜ƒ

Because of the stiffness it’ll be slow growing, it’s kinda hard on the wrist.

But – we’ll get there eventually 😎

That was all from here πŸ™‚ How many projects are you working on right now? No fibbing…time to fess up πŸ˜…

Have a wonderful rest of the week 😘

Thanks for peeking in πŸ’•

The Stubborn Granny Square – Problem solved πŸ˜

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Now – as promised – I’m gonna show you what I did with the yellow/grey Granny Squares that didn’t wanna play well with others πŸ˜‹

The plan was to make another Granny Square Cardigan

or a Granny Square Poncho. But no matter what color I tried, nothing would match the yellow/grey. πŸ˜•

See what I mean?

On the post in which I was whining about my predicament, the wonderful Brenna @ Crochet 539 advised me to set them aside, and wait for inspiration. So I did. 😊

Then, a few days ago, I received a yarn order, and in it was a fabulous, delicious yarn – Red Heart’s ‘Unforgettable’ in ‘ Sunrise’ 😍

As I was fingering it, my mind went to the squares, tucked away in the Granny-Square-Pile…yes there is such a thing in my house 😜

And I thought, well, if I can’t match it, I gotta go the crazy route, and do the unconventional, the unexpected. And you know how I love to go down that road. 😁

So I put the two together. My daughter just raised one skeptical eyebrow 😏 but didn’t say anything. I didn’t hate it, so I started the square. If it were an absolute no-no, like the other ones, I could always add it to the pile. 😁

But see what happened…it worked! πŸ˜ƒ At least I think so! What do you think? Yay or Nay?

I did add the black to make the transition more pleasant, and I love how it now looks a bit like stained glass. 😊

Because I like the yarn so much, I made a matching Infinity Scarf

As it happens so often, I do wanna keep it. But, if I constantly do that my Etsy store will have nothing but dust bunnies and tumbleweed in it! πŸ˜†

So I’m still on the fence about it.

I’d love to hear what you think! 😍 Please let me know…I’m looking forward to it – I think πŸ˜‰

Sending Smiles πŸ™‚ Hugs πŸ€— and Love πŸ’• your way.

A Few (handmade) Last-Minute Gifts πŸŽ

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Are you still frantically looking for another gift idea? Wanna make something? 😁

I found a few lovely things that can be made in just a few short hours.

How about a warm & cozy

1.) Infinity Scarf

I made this one in appr. 3 hours (and I’m not super fast 😜)

You need

4 skeins of a super bulky yarn (#6) – I used ‘Lionbrand Hometown USA’*

1 crochet hook L (8mm)

Special StitchV-st = (Dc, ch1, Dc) in indicated st or space

Setup Row: Ch 22, V-stitch in 5th ch from hook, *skip 2 ch, 3 dc in next ch; repeat from * to last 2 ch, skip 1 ch, dc in last ch. Turn

Pattern row: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), *V-st in second dc of first 3-dc group, 3 dc in ch-1 space of next V-Stitch; rep from * to end, Dc in 2nd ch from turning chain. Turn.

Repeat pattern row until your scarf is (at least) 57″

Sew the short ends together, and weave in the ends (Sorry πŸ˜‰)

When making an Infinity Scarf I always twist the scarf once –

I think that gives it a nice ‘knotted’ effect when worn. 😊

2.) A Headband

This adjustable Headband really only takes about 2 hours.

It fits any size head, because it ties in the back 😊

You can find the pattern here

3.) Elizabeth Stitch Boot Cuffs

I found these gorgeous boot cuffs on Pinterest – and the link actually led somewhere 😜

It brought me here – to Dabbles and Babbles – a website full of wonderful ideas πŸ˜ƒ

Here are the boot cuffs

(Photo taken from website)

A little hint – when you click on the link, one of the first things you see is an offer to buy an ‘ad free’ version of the pattern. If you keep scrolling you’ll get to the pattern though – with a few ads here and there πŸ˜‰

I hope this was/is of some help. If you need more ideas, please stop by again tomorrow… I have a few more things to show you. 😁

Until then πŸ’•

*I’m not affiliated with any brand/company mentioned here.

πŸ¦‹ WIP πŸ¦‹ Wednesday πŸ¦‹

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’• Is it just me or is time marching along way too fast? It seems like we just carved the pumpkins πŸŽƒ….or at least played with the idea and looked at carved pumpkins 😜 And now here we are…way into November, and 45 days away from Christmas 😬

So I’ll get to today’s subject…before I waste any more of your time ☺️

Last month I made this Lollipop Cowl…

It was fun to make, and everyone seemed to be quite taken with it 😊 so I decided to make another one

Purple is the worst color to photograph πŸ˜•

In my search for the perfect buttons, I came across these beauties by ‘Lauren Birch’

But the cats and the Lollipops were too much – even for me πŸ˜‰

So I decided to lose the Lollipops, and will add simple fringe instead. Pictures coming soon. πŸ™‚

The next Lollipop Cowl was not meant to be either πŸ™ƒ

It started well enough…

…but then boring Monday Night Football happened. My mind started wandering designing – and another Puzzle Poncho was born. Apparently I do like to piece things together πŸ€“

So I made more pieces

Then it looked like this

One more piece…

….for this

Now it’s getting somewhere…it needs something though πŸ€” I’ll let you know what, once I figure it out.

In other news – I just opened an Etsy shop πŸ˜ƒ I’ve been putting it off and putting it off…but today was the day. This is the very first listing …

I’ve been making these adjustable headbands. My daughter already claimed one – let’s hope that many more will follow her example. πŸ˜†

Alrighty…that’s all…I’ll let you get back to what you were doing. 😊

Take good care of yourself πŸ’•

And So it Begins ~ ‘Bohemian Oasis’ Β – A Boho Crochet-Along πŸ’œ

Hello my lovely friends  πŸ’• Are you ready for a new Crochet-Along? 😊 I’m so excited, and hope that you’ll have fun! πŸ˜ƒ

Since it’s not a ‘Mystery CAL’ I can tell you…we’re making a cozy blanket. An oasis for your living room – something to snuggle under in the colder months to come. It’s hard to imagine right now that I ever want to sit under a blanket, but it’s coming! πŸ˜‰

I will give you a few tips on how to change it into a shawl, a larger blanket, or even a Wallhanging. 😁

But now…without further ado….here’s Part 1

(Please be patient with me 😊 this is my very first (own) crochet along…so if I stumble a bit, or am not clear on anything – give me a nudge πŸ€— I think together we can make this a fabulous experience πŸ’œ)

It’s actually 32″ wide but in the full picture you couldn’t see the detail. 😁

There was a lot of trial and error…translation – frogging πŸ˜„ But I ironed out the problems, and so far I’m pretty happy with it.

So today I’m going to show you how to crochet the ‘Flower Grannies’. They are your foundation.

There are 5, for a total width of 32″ (including the connection crochet) We’ll work a 3″ border around everything at the end for a total of 38″.

If you want to make a larger blanket just add more squares. I picked stitches that work with any number of foundation stitches. πŸ€“

But first…the ‘Flower Granny’

Abbreviations:

htc = half treble crochet

tc = treble crochet

dc2tog = yo, insert hook in designated stitch, pull yarn through, yo, through 2 loops. Yo, insert hook into same stitch, pull through. Yo, pull through 2loops, yo, pull through remaining 3 loops.

1. Start with a Magic Ring. Ch3, yo, dc in the base of the chain. *Yo, dc2tog, ch1, dc2tog . Repeat from *four times = 6 petals. Fasten off

*Yo, dc2tog, ch1, dc2tog . Repeat from *four times = 6 petals. Close ring with a slipstitch. Fasten off

2. Connect your second color. Ch 3, dc in ch1 space at the base of the chain. Ch1, dc2tog in same space. Ch1. Work *dc2tog, ch1, dc2tog groups in each ch1 space.

I marked the placements with pins

Connect with a slipstitch.

3. Ch3, turn your work around, 2dc into space at the base of the chain. Ch 1. *Work 3dc into every ch1 space of the previous row

= 12 groups of 3. Connect with a slipstitch. Fasten off.

4. Connect your third color. Ch3, 2dc in space at the base of your chain. Ch 1, 3 dc into next ch1 space. Ch1 – now you’ll work the corner. 2 htr, 1tc, ch3, 1 tc, 2 hdc. *Ch1, 3dc in next ch1 space. Ch1, 3dc in next ch1 space. Ch1, crochet the corner. Repeat from *. End with a corner. Connect with a slipstitch, and fasten off.

Done! 😍 Isn’t that a nice weekend project?

Then you want to connect them πŸ˜€ I picked this join stitch because it goes perfect with anything Granny Square, plus it aids in keeping the project ‘flowy’ 😌

I posted a tutorial for this join stitch a few weeks ago…you can find it here πŸ™‚

I honestly hope you like the project I picked for us πŸ€— Please holler if you have any questions or concerns! I’m always just a quick message away 😘

Let me know what you think about this project! Will you join in? πŸ’œ That would be pretty awesome!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a few ‘Weekend Chuckles’…I did find some good ones! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Until then πŸ’•

Work~in~Progress Wednesday 🌺 A Pinwheel, Hydrangeas, and two scarves

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’• It’s always fabulous to see you here!

I have a few projects on various hooks these days 😎

If you saw yesterday’s postΒ you already know a little bit about the Hydrangea blossoms, and how a little spark of an idea, a hook and some yarn turned into these…

Part of the idea was to turn them – and many more like it – into a Boho purse. Yesterday I wasn’t sure how to accomplish that. —-> see yesterday’sΒ postΒ for the ways I considered. 😊

Well, now I’m one step closer – this is how it’s gonna be

Β  I’ll sew them onto a felted wool-sweater, and add a handle

What do you think? Looks like it’s gonna be fabulous, doesn’t it? πŸ€“

🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼

It’s a bit difficult to think of scarfs and wraps right now – but nevertheless, I persisted! πŸ˜‹

I have two to show ya….

1.

Β Inspired by my ‘New Stitch Sunday’ post 😍

2.Β

And this one is pretty much done….I just have to secure the “yarn tails”. Β πŸ˜•

I love how this one turned out. The cool thing is, it kinda designed itself while I was crocheting. Every time I got to the end of a segment, I remembered a certain yarn from my stash….and wouldn’t you know it – it was always the perfect one. πŸ˜ƒ

πŸ’œ See little Eddie hanging out under the couch? Right in the path of the AC flow. Smart dog! 😍

🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼🌸🌼🌺🌼

Speaking of Yarn-Tails. Don’t you hate the dreaded little things that always seem to double the time it takes to finish a project! 😣

The stack of Flower-Squares is growing….maybe I should sew in some tails now…before I make more?! When do you deal with them? As you go or at the end?

🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺🌼🌸🌺

And then….the “Yarnspiration” Crochet Along 😍 I started that this morning, so there’s not much to show you yet

It’ll be a ‘Pinwheel Blanket’ – so far I’m pretty happy with it. πŸ˜€

I’d like to tell you more about it….the difficult color choice πŸ˜‰ my ‘brain fart’ moment πŸ˜‚ Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β How about we do that tomorrow? And then we can also look at the pattern together! πŸ€—

Alrighty! It’s a date! πŸ’ƒπŸ»

As always I’m looking forward to chatting with you! πŸ’œ Tag…you’re it! 😁

Thanks for visiting! I’ll see ya tomorrow!

Until then πŸ’•
