Your Advent Calendar πŸŽ„ Day 24

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

This is a bittersweet moment for me. It’s the last door of the Advent Calendar- I’m gonna miss sharing these special stories with you, but, at the same time, I’m happy because Christmas Eve is a day spent talking, laughing, eating with my wonderful family. 😍

So…the door is already open (it is quite late after all πŸ˜‰)

On this last day I’d like to show you my Christmas decorations πŸ₯°πŸŽ„

My Christmas village with carousel

The middle panel in the background is a quilt top πŸ˜… After many, many years I had to admit that it’ll never be a quilt. So it became a drape. πŸ˜‹

The β€˜Winter Wonderland’ in the living room 😊
My antique buffet I brought with me from Germany turns into an eclectic display during the winter months ⛄️
I found this beautiful painting at our local Antique Mall 😍

I wish you a wonderful Day, and hope you get to spend it with people you love! ❀️

To say it with the words of Bruce Springsteen β€œHappy Christmas, happy New Year, happy Birthday, happy rest-of-your-life” πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

Your Advent Calendar πŸŽ„ Day 20

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Today’s door is rather simple – but still beautiful 😍 And so is the surprise behind it! πŸ€—

There’s something about it, don’t you think? ☺️

I do wonder why the handle is so low? πŸ˜… I just noticed that…any ideas? 🧐

Anyway- time to reveal today’s surprise – Christmas Trees from 100 years ago 😍

I love this picture so much! πŸ’œ

If you would like to see some more beautiful trees/photos, click Here – I hope you enjoy the trip into the past! πŸ₯°

I wish you a wonderful, fabulous, sparkly Holiday season πŸ’•πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Your Advent Calendar πŸŽ„ Day 16

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Day 16 already? 😳 I’m sure you have things to do! So, without further ado…let’s open Door #16 πŸ€—

And what did we find? Snowy pictures β˜ƒοΈ

After yesterday’s snow event I took my camera out, and took photos of everything that caught my eye 😊 Here are a few for your viewing pleasure…

An interesting snow-pattern on our patio 😍
Snow on a pine tree πŸŽ„ Is there anything more beautiful?
A beautiful, overgrown juniper bush
The birch tree in our yard 🀩

Now I let you go back to what you were doing 😁 I hope you enjoyed this little selection!

I wish you a wonderful, fabulous, sparkly Holiday season πŸ’•πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸ₯‚

Your Advent Calendar πŸŽ„ Day 10

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Let’s see what’s behind Door #10 😁

Wait a minute…Door #10? That means it’s only 2 weeks till Christmas Eve 😳 I better get moving! There’s still a lot of room under the tree πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

But now…let’s open this door

And what do we find?

The Christmas Ship 😍

Isn’t it breathtaking?

According to the Oregon website, this ship is part of the annual Christmas parade. This beautiful event dates back to 1954, and can be admired for 2 weeks in December in Portland.

I just added this to my bucket list 😊

I wish you a wonderful, fabulous, sparkly Holiday season πŸ’•πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸΌ

A Walk By The Lake On A Sunny Day 😎

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Today we got to enjoy a rare, gorgeous November day 😍

Too beautiful to spend all of it inside. So we explored the area a bit, and discovered a beautiful lake, not far from our house.

Who knew? πŸ˜…

Here are some impressions of the lovely scenery…

The geese were very cooperative!
Here I tried to get them in flight…but they were too fast. πŸ˜„
It kinda looks like they’re dancing for me, doesn’t it? 😊
I love Sycamore trees 😍
I do wish the trash cans weren’t so bright πŸ˜†
On the way home – the clouds were moving in

I hope you enjoyed this little view of Kansas πŸ™‚

Until next time πŸ’•

❄️A ❄️ Picture ❄️ Perfect ❄️ Morning β„️

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

For days now the weather guy has warned us of the ‘Winter storm’ headed this way.

Well, when I took the dogs out last night, there wasn’t much of anything…even the grass still peeked through a light dusting. But when I went outside this morning, everything had changed. I was greeted by this view…

The owl is wearing a hat…

…and our ‘Welcome’ bear a mask – I wonder what he’s up to πŸ˜‹

The neighborhood kids got busy πŸ˜ƒ

For me there are not many things more beautiful than a snow-covered Pine Tree

I don’t think Pearl, the cat, cares 😁

The Wisteria branches are a work of art 😍

Now I shut up, and let you enjoy the scenery 😊

(There’s nothing wrong with your eyes – it was early, and still somewhat dark-ish πŸ™‚)

I hope you enjoyed the stroll through our Winter Wonderland πŸ’œ

I wish you a wonderful weekend! πŸ’•

Looking back…and forward πŸ˜Š

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•
I hope this finds you well! Did you have a nice holiday season? πŸŽ„β›„οΈ
I wish you a very happy and successful 2019! May it be as fabulous as you are 😍

You may have noticed that I took a little break on here.
Note to self: Don’t do that again! πŸ™ˆ It’s really hard to find the way back – even though I enjoy it immensely. Finding a perfect re-starting point…well, didn’t happen.
So I’m just gonna tell/show you what I’ve been up to over the last few weeks. 😁

I did a few craft shows – here’s a picture of the very last one. It was at my friend Donna’s house. She makes the most amazing canned goods, and was so sweet to host a ‘Maker’s Market’ at her house. 😊

In between shows I was busy creating new pretties for the next one.

In December we had some friends over for a wonderful ‘Holiday Party’. πŸ˜πŸŽ„πŸ₯³
I made a German/Hungarian Beef Stew.  Judging by the empty bowls… it was delicious.🀩

One of my goals for the coming year is to take my camera with me more, and show you some pictures from around here. We’re off to a great beginning – here are my two favorites from the first outing.

Sycamores  – I love them! 😍

Some em….pretty things (if you know what they’re called, please let me know) 😊

I made my first felted hat!
At this point hubby really doubted that I knew what I was doing πŸ˜‚

But – it turned out well  πŸ˜ƒ More on that later.

Oh…one more blogging goal….I wanna learn (and share) about all the amazing art out there. I’m thinking a ‘Weekly Gallery’  πŸž What are your thoughts on that?

Before you leave – here’s the first hat of 2019. It’s a Pixie πŸ§šπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ Hat to symbolize the hope for a magical new year 🀩

Alright my friends – this was it in a nutshell. It’s good to be back! πŸ€—
I hope to see you again soon. πŸ’•

Will You Take A Walk With Me? πŸ˜ŽπŸπŸŒ³

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Lansing, KS is not your typical pretty ‘Small-Town-America’. But in the Fall it turns into a canvas for Mother Nature most beautiful work. 😍

It’s a sunny, crisp morning, so I took my camera with me on my daily walk.

Here are some pictures of the delightful sights I’m lucky enough to see every day 😊

Straight out the door stands this beauty

These pictures speak for themselves

There’s a little frost on the ground

As the sun went higher, more and more colors came to life

The little creek was really flowing after the rains two weeks ago. Now…not so much

Sunshine and a little green fairy πŸ§šπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

This one made me chuckle πŸ˜„

I hope you enjoyed our little stroll 🍁

Do you have a lot of Fall colors in your neck of the woods? Let me know…I’d love to hear/see what’s outside your door! πŸ’•

Like A Butterfly πŸ¦‹

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

You’re probably wondering about the title of this post πŸ€”

Let me explain…that’s how I feel these days – like a butterfly flitting from task to task. Somehow I can’t sit still for any length of time. I’m always thinking about things I wanna/gotta do. And it’s never the one thing I’m doing right then and there. πŸ™ƒ

Do you know what I mean? Do you have times like that?

Things that did get done

-I did clean up baskets in my ‘Yarn-Room’. But only because the new winder called me in there. 😁

-I did go on a few walks this week. My friend Carole and I are taking advantage of the glorious weather – morning temperatures in the 40s is quite a change from last week, but we’re enjoying the sunshine that comes with it, and the fact that we’re not damp after one mile 😝

-Some yard work – The ‘Rose of Sharon’ bush that was out of control is no more. Normally I don’t like cutting down Flora that’s healthy and growing. But this bush didn’t seem to be doing too well. It was still green and growing, but the leaves were very small, and the buds wouldn’t open to all their glory. So the clippers came out…this is what’s left

It’s hard to believe that, just a few years ago, this was a spindly, little twig with a few short roots.

The trim should give it new life…we’ll see next year. 😊

While I was outside with my camera I noticed the sun hitting this beauty just right

Doesn’t it look like it’s glowing? 😍

We have the first red leaves in the yard! The Maple ‘volunteer’ in the flower pot wants to be the first one to announce that ‘Fall is here’ 🍁

The dogs enjoyed the time we spent outside πŸ’•

-Carpet steps are (finally) clean πŸ˜ƒ

Ever since we moved in I’ve had this problem with dingy steps, well – just the edges. Because our Lorelai (the white one ⬆️) is very low to the ground, so her belly gets a bit dirty walking around outside. It doesn’t help that she loves to lay down in the grass, pull herself forward, all around the yard πŸ˜†

Then she comes in, cleaning her belly on the steps 😝

I’ve tried every commercial product under the sun…nothing would get these edges clean. But now – thank you, Pinterest! – they’re clean…and it’s not the different lighting πŸ˜†

before

It’s a miracle! I’ll tell you what did it…

3/4 cup Hydrogen Peroxide

2 teaspoons baking soda

1squirt of Dawn

Mix it well, dab, then scrub, onto the stain. Done!

Happy Tina here! πŸ˜ƒ

-Crocheting

By the end of every day I kick back in front of the TV and add rows to ‘Georgia Mae’s Flower Patch’ 😍 Yes, the plan to make it a Crochet-Along is still solid. I’m taking pattern-notes, and hope to have Part I up by this weekend!

-I guess now I can add this blog-post to my list of things done 😁

I hope you are enjoying a sunny, creative, and beautiful day! πŸ’•

Beautiful Night Sky βœ¨

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Yesterday I came across this post from the local weatherman…announcing a -somewhat- rare occurrence

Of course I had to go out and see. Luckily it was a clear night, and so I was able to capture

The Moon, Saturn…and a Fairy 😊

A few days prior I found this image that shows the planet – (and other known object-) sizes in relation to one another

To look at Saturn in comparison to the Moon – the itty bitty moon – and then go back to how they appeared in the sky…I don’t know what to say.

I can’t even imagine the distance between us and this planet.

πŸŒ“πŸ’«πŸŒŽπŸ’«πŸŒ—πŸŒπŸŒ“πŸ’«πŸŒπŸ’«πŸŒ—πŸŒπŸŒ“πŸ’«πŸŒπŸ’«πŸŒ—πŸŒπŸŒ“πŸ’«πŸŒ—πŸŒπŸŒ“πŸ’«πŸŒπŸ’«πŸŒ—πŸŒŽπŸŒ“πŸ’«

While we’re gazing up at the sky…here are two more pictures from the nights before.

This was last Friday…we thought for sure we’d get some rain. Didn’t happen, but the clouds were pretty impressive.

Something pretty cool happened here, in the clouds, in the distance. Constant lightning! It was quite a show. 😍 Sadly, by the time I got my camera the clouds had moved on.

Still a pretty picture though 😁

Do you like to observe the moon, the vast universe above us?

I am very fascinated by it all, and do sit outside at night looking up, admiring the beauty of the night sky. πŸ™‚

Have a good night πŸŒ™ It’s almost time for the full moon. Enjoy! 😊
