Crochet Painting, Tulips, and β€˜The Never-Ending Ruffle’ – WIP Wednesday πŸ˜ŠπŸ§ΆπŸŒ·

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

While it’s been a couple of turbulent weeks (weather wise) I’ve been calmly wielding my crochet hook…thanks to the ‘Great British Baking Show’ – yes,I’m addicted πŸ™ˆ

I have to admit though, that when they announce ‘5 more minutes’, and the music gets faster…so does my crochet hook πŸ˜… Not so calm then!

So I’ve been building my inventory for the Fall-/Winter Craft Shows – but I leave that for another post.

Today I wanna show you my current two WIPs – huh, only 2 😳, somehow that seems wrong, but nevertheless here we are with 2. πŸ˜‰

This here is my second ‘Crochet Painting’ – I named it “Let’s go for a walk”

I hope you’re able to recognize something 😬

I’m quite pleased with the tree

The first one I made still needs blocking and framing (don’t know yet what I’m gonna do about that since it’s quite large)

Do you see the sunset? 😊

The second WIP – a multicolored shawl, that came out a bit bigger than planned (it’s about 60″ wide) – is almost done…if I can ever finish the ruffle-border.

Not an easy task, since it’s 3 treble-crochet per stitch πŸ™ƒ All around πŸ˜…

Since it’s a happy Springtime shawl – I had to include some tulips 🌷

Aren’t they adorable? 😍

If you have a project in mind that is missing some tulips – here’s how you make them 😁

Crochet – Tulips

Number of stitches: Multiple of 3, +1

Row 1 – Attach the green yarn to the end of a row. Ch 3. Yo. Skip 1 stitch, 1 dc in next stitch.

Ch3. 1 dc in same stitch. Yo. *skip 2 stitches, 1dc in next stitch. Ch3, 1 dc in same stitch.

Repeat from * until there are 2 stitches left. Dc in last stitch. Fasten off.

Row 2 – Attach new (flower) color to the top of the last dc. Ch3. *Work 5 dc in the ch-3 space. Remove hook. Insert hook into the top 2 loops of the first dc of the ‘group’

Pick up the working loop and pull through. Ta-da – Tulip made πŸ˜ƒ

Ch 3. Repeat from * until all the spaces are filled. Dc in top ch of beginning ch.

Fasten off.

Row 3 – Attach new color. Ch2. Work row in dc, by working 3 hdc in the ch-3 space, and 1 hdc in the first sc on top of the tulip

And there you have it. A beautiful row of happy tulips. 😍

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

Now I’m off – gotta see what the bakers in the tent are up to…and (hopefully) finish those ruffles! πŸ˜„

Take good care of yourself! Until next time πŸ’•

Oh thank you, I’ve always wanted to try tulips! They’re one of my favourite flowers so I definitely have to crochet some
