WIP – Wednesday ~ Summerโ€™s Here ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’•

I hope everything is well at your end of the Interwebs ๐Ÿ˜‰

(Sorry, I’m watching ‘Monk’, and he just said it – that made me laugh so I had to use it in a sentence ๐Ÿ˜†)

Alrighty…where were we? Oh right – the current WIPs.

I’ve been busy planning next week’s workshop – so there is not too much to report ๐Ÿ˜

I’m still working on the Purses. The ‘Agate Slice’ purse is almost finished.

Front and back are done, so is the strip that will keep everything together and give it some width. Then lining and handles and I have something to show off ๐Ÿ˜

A few weeks ago I came across a Facebook add for a yarn sale. Well, put ‘yarn’ and ‘sale’ in one sentence and I’m there. Oh boy, was it a Sale! ๐Ÿ˜

I found Bamboo yarn for an unbelievable price! Yeah, I had to buy bundles of 10…but at $2 a skein I didn’t hesitate! ๐Ÿ˜

Isn’t it gorgeous?!

The sock-knitters among you probably spotted the sock yarn right away. ๐Ÿ˜ Yep, same company, and also an amazing deal.

I’m very happy with the quality of both! I’m working with both yarns right now – they’re coming together in a colorful Summer-Tunic

What do you think? A nice cami underneath, and I’m set for the hot weather ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The first strip for the back is already done

The only problem I’m foreseeing now is the ‘weaving-in-of-the-Bamboo-yarn-ends’. It’s quite slippery, and I’m worried that it won’t stay where I put it. Any tips? I would be so grateful! ๐Ÿ™‚

If you’re interested in checking out the company (no affiliation, just a friendly tip ๐Ÿ˜Š) here’s the link to the Yarn Zone

I just checked, and the ‘Bag Deals’ are still available. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

The planning for the workshop ‘A Day of Crochet‘ is coming along nicely.

People are signing up, projects are done – there will be a ‘Granny Square’ lesson, crochet flowers, and a ‘Chilly Cowl’ – that’s a Summer cotton cowl. Before wearing you soak it in cold water, and it will keep you cool for hours. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Chilly Cowl

Granny Square & Flower – for a 2-in-1 Dishcloth/Scrubby

I hope everyone will have a fun crochet-day ๐Ÿ˜

Have you been to a Yarn-Retreat? Do you have any tips/advice for me? What did you expect when signing up? I would love it if you would share your experience! ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Until then ๐Ÿ’•

Looks like your participants are in for a treat! And that would be my recommendation, a little treat bag with some chocolate and other goodies if you can swing it!

Weaving in the ends… Weave in one direction, loop around a stick then weave back the way you came from intentionally splitting the fibres. Hopefully that will hold them in place more securely.
I love bamboo yarn too โค It’s a lovely project Tina xxx

I can’t decide what my favorite thing is about this post. I mean, I love a yarn bargain, but I also love your projects. So bright and cheerful!

Well, since I got my hot glue gun – I have been hot gluing everthing, even the broken bone in my bra! SO I will just say glue or fabric glue (the one that dries clear) once you have weaved in the ends. I am obsessed with just gluing stuff now I have power muhahahhahhaha

OH and what a bargain on that bamboo yarn! Lucky you ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
