The Stubborn Granny Square – Problem solved πŸ˜

Hello my lovely friends πŸ’•

Now – as promised – I’m gonna show you what I did with the yellow/grey Granny Squares that didn’t wanna play well with others πŸ˜‹

The plan was to make another Granny Square Cardigan

or a Granny Square Poncho. But no matter what color I tried, nothing would match the yellow/grey. πŸ˜•

See what I mean?

On the post in which I was whining about my predicament, the wonderful Brenna @ Crochet 539 advised me to set them aside, and wait for inspiration. So I did. 😊

Then, a few days ago, I received a yarn order, and in it was a fabulous, delicious yarn – Red Heart’s ‘Unforgettable’ in ‘ Sunrise’ 😍

As I was fingering it, my mind went to the squares, tucked away in the Granny-Square-Pile…yes there is such a thing in my house 😜

And I thought, well, if I can’t match it, I gotta go the crazy route, and do the unconventional, the unexpected. And you know how I love to go down that road. 😁

So I put the two together. My daughter just raised one skeptical eyebrow 😏 but didn’t say anything. I didn’t hate it, so I started the square. If it were an absolute no-no, like the other ones, I could always add it to the pile. 😁

But see what happened…it worked! πŸ˜ƒ At least I think so! What do you think? Yay or Nay?

I did add the black to make the transition more pleasant, and I love how it now looks a bit like stained glass. 😊

Because I like the yarn so much, I made a matching Infinity Scarf

As it happens so often, I do wanna keep it. But, if I constantly do that my Etsy store will have nothing but dust bunnies and tumbleweed in it! πŸ˜†

So I’m still on the fence about it.

I’d love to hear what you think! 😍 Please let me know…I’m looking forward to it – I think πŸ˜‰

Sending Smiles πŸ™‚ Hugs πŸ€— and Love πŸ’• your way.

Oh it’s definitely a yay πŸ™Œ It’s come together really well and no one would ever think you had struggled over it πŸ™‚ The black works a read in uniting it together. Clever you

Looks good and loving that infinity scarf. πŸ™‚ I have some unforgettable yarn that I got as a gift and am not sure what to do with it. If i wore scarfs, I would so make one. It’ll probably end up as outfits for future dolls or puppets.

It is a beautiful yarn 😊 It would look adorable as a little dress or jacket 😍
I have to ask…why don’t you wear scarfs?

First off, I live in Southern California so it’s mostly not needed for the cold. I know it’s been super cold everywhere else but this Winter it’s been pretty warm here. As for wearing them as a style, I’ve just never been into them. My husband bought me some beautiful, hand dyed silk ones and tried to wear them but they just weren’t for me. So I love making them but I don’t like wearing them. I make them for others when they ask though. πŸ™‚

That would explain it 😎 As much as I love scarves… I’d gladly trade them in for warmer weather 😁

It totally works! You’re right about the black, it really frames the different colours and helps turn it into a whole, it’s fabby πŸ˜€
