My Crochet~Alongs – Past and Future ๐Ÿ”ฎ

Hello my lovely friends ๐Ÿ’• How wonderful to see you!

Soooooo…..this just happened

 No worries…it was intentional ๐Ÿ˜

It’s the result of me giving up on the ‘Crochet Along’ I started last week. It was just too boring๐Ÿ˜ด I didn’t feel inspired at all…every time I looked at it and contemplated doing a few rounds…I found something else to do. ๐Ÿ˜• I had a few talks with myself…not out loud – at least I don’t think so ๐Ÿ˜œ ….trying to convince myself that it’s the first CAL for me, that maybe my expectations were too high.

So I set it aside – in a different room…that should’ve told me something ๐Ÿ˜ – saying ‘it’s too hot to be sitting under a ever growing blanket. A-huh ~ sure! That’s what it is.

Now I’m curious….did you ever get all excited about a project only to realize that it’s not that great? Did you abandon it for ‘greener pastures’ or did you power through? ๐Ÿ™‚

What brought me to the ‘official’ abandonment of this project was yesterday’s post from Robin from Imperial Crochet – and seeing that she had the same problem. That’s when I finally admitted that this CAL is not going to happen for me.

Life is too short to be bored by a project ๐Ÿ˜Š weaving in ends is bad enough ๐Ÿ™„

But three positives came out of this experience ๐Ÿ˜€

1. I now know how to do the Tapestry Stitch

2. I have 2 pounds of pretty yarn in pretty colors to make something lovely with

3. This is where we come to the ‘CAL future’ mentioned in the title! I’m now inspired to hold my own Crochet Along…built from the expectations I had for the failed one. ๐Ÿค“

I have a lot of ideas, and already started on it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ It’s gonna be a wild one, because this wee one made an appearance and it looks like she’s here to stay ๐Ÿ’œ

I plan to post more about my CAL very soon ๐Ÿ˜ I’m really excited and ready to rumble! ๐Ÿ˜…

Thanks so much for visiting and reading all the great way down to here ๐Ÿค—

I hope you will join me tomorrow for ‘Work ~ in ~ Progress Wednesday’ ๐ŸŒบ

Until then ๐Ÿ’•

You talk to yourself like I talk to myself. ๐Ÿ™‚ Life is too short for uninspiring projects. Totally agree.

I never even started that CAL, I’m so uninspired by it! I can’t wait for yours ๐Ÿ˜€

I love the idea of you creating a CAL!! I can’t promise that I will jump in – my brain is broken in a way that makes me instantly not want to do what everyone else is doing regardless of how awesome it is. It’s not you it’s me – for real!! :D:D ๐Ÿ˜€ I will however wholeheartedly be FAL – (following along) and taking great delight in seeing everyone’s progress on it. I like to talk my ideas to my dogs. Well that’s what I pretend so that it seems less crazy than talking to myself – just a tiny bit less crazy. I really didn’t care for the offset color sectioning of the abandoned CAL. It looks odd to me and I don’t blame you for taking it apart. I LOVE that you were able to add another crochet technique to your repertoire and that it inspired you to create your own – so it wasn’t a total loss!! Way to go in squeezing some lemonade out of those lemons!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
